Technological innovation is not only about new ideas. For innovation to be innovation, it usually takes more than just ideas: one has to introduce it and commercialize it. So, the growth of the nation’s technological innovation is largely influenced by the culture of entrepreneurship which, together with the influence of modern education, is the subject matter of the interview below between an IDO correspondent and this issue’s expert, Viсtor Sedov, President of The US-Russia Center for Entrepreneurship.

There is a global entrepreneurial revolution afoot, and Russia is in its midst.  Free markets represent a highly effective economic structure or system, but they do not work without someone to drive them.  The driver is the entrepreneur.  There is a need for a society filled with individuals with dreams, who will take calculated risks, demonstrate tenacity and perseverance, and creatively overcome the challenges and obstacles that are inherent in creating something new.  

The third edition of the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (G20 YES), the annual international event organized by the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, that brings together the most emblematic entrepreneurs of the G20 nations, will be held in Nice from October 31 - November 2, 2011.
